Astro construction begins

May 13, 2026 | Uncategorized

South Skye Community Campus would like to advise residents and users that construction works to convert the existing grass football pitch into a new all-weather Astro pitch will begin on Monday, 18th May.

The project marks a major investment in local sporting facilities and will provide a high-quality, year-round playing surface for the community, schools and local sports groups.

During the construction period, the existing football pitch will be closed to the public for safety reasons. The MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) will be closed permanently when the works begin. A new MUGA will be built within the new school grounds.

The works are expected to take approximately 15 weeks to complete.

Members of the public are also advised that the car park adjacent to the pitch area will operate at approximately half capacity during construction. We ask all visitors to allow extra time where possible and to park considerately while works are ongoing.

As this is an active construction site, we kindly ask everyone to remain vigilant around the area, observe all signage and barriers, and help ensure the safety of contractors, staff, children and other site users at all times.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while these important improvements are carried out and look forward to delivering a modern facility that can be enjoyed by the whole community for years to come.
