Whilst we, at South Skye Community Campus, are very disappointed to miss out on funding for our community campus from the Island Programme Fund we congratulate those community groups that did get funding, especially the Staffin Trust who have a great project at Staffin Harbour which our chair visited recently.
Fundraising for community projects is very challenging at the moment but the trustees of South Skye Community Campus will take heart from the feedback from the funding panel that “The application showed good evidence of being community driven, was strong on Place and reflected the needs of development in Broadford and South Skye.“ We are still early in the process of sourcing funding for the project and have other sources to apply to.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported us thus far, our members, volunteers and trustees, Highland Council and our MSP and her team. We hope that a village that is potentially going to double in population size over the next few years will get the sporting facilities it so desperately needs.
