Astro Pitch Update
Great progress is being made on our new astro pitch!
The project is on schedule after the early site challenges were successfully resolved.
Drainage and manholes have been installed and are fully operational.
The pitch hardcore has been laid and compacted.
4 of the 8 floodlight bases are now in place.
The contractor will be off site for the next two weeks before returning to lay the final sand layer. At the same time, the fencing and floodlighting contractors will begin their work. Work is also continuing to divert the water main in the western corner of the site, with groundworks progressing well and expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Then the pitch laying will commence on August. The team has advised that the most challenging phase of the project is now behind us, so we can look forward to the remaining works progressing smoothly.
